The Cherokee Rose

...or Rosa laevigata is displaying its saucer size (well, a small saucer) blooms at the OGH garden this afternoon.  A wonderful sight.  And I discovered that we have two horse chestnut trees just coming into leaf, and some of the species roses are starting to flower, including Rosa hugonis.

I am looking forward to the next few weeks.  The garden will start to blossom, so long as we don't get a burst of hot weather.  We have more rain forecast this weekend which will bring everything on wonderfully well.
