In love

I have quite fallen in love with this (to me) unusual plant.  It is Helleborus foetidus, known variously as stinking hellebore, dungwort, setterwort and bear's foot, and is a species of flowering plant in the buttercup family Ranunculaceae, native to the mountainous regions of Central and Southern Europe, Greece and Asia Minor.

I have to confess I did not sink my nose into the flowers so whether it stinks or not, I wouldn't know.

The foliage is a very attractive dark green, more finely lobed than your usual hellebore.  I shall definitely acquire some for the OGH garden, it will brighten up some of our more shaded areas.   I spotted it on another visit to Gamble garden this morning.
