Sick as a parrot

Best to draw a veil over the last couple of days. After the errant Mystère returned home on Monday, I was promptly struck by a dire urinary tract infection during the night. It was bad enough that first thing Tuesday morning I headed to the doctor's surgery (luckily only down the road) and then to the pharmacy for antibiotic pills the size of gobstoppers. The rest of the day I didn't leave the house. S decided to make some consoling scrambled eggs, but the sophisticated electronic hob, after deigning to half-warm a pan, packed up altogether. We had toast and marmalade for lunch. But on one of his foraging trips S bought a cheap barbecue (amazed there isn't one here already), so dinner was pork kebabs on the terrace. And an early night for me.

However the antibiotics were effective, and by this afternoon I was feeling vaguely human. An electrician came and fixed the loose connection on the hob, so we did have eggs for lunch this time. In the late afternoon we walked down to town for a bit of shopping, and took the opportunity to visit the bird park. So here is a parrot (and a parakeet in extras). Still not 100%, but a quiet night in and barbecued sea bass for dinner should improve things. Hoping to resume normal service tomorrow ...
