Conkers Drive Spiders Bonkers !

Well, they do in my home. I haven't seen a spider indoors since I spread around the conkers I gathered last year. These are new ones that I picked up along Victoria Avenue, which is lined with horse chestnut trees. The spider population is expanding in the UK, some 7 inches long. They are moving indoors to find a dry place to mate. Saponin gives conkers a bitter taste and a smell that acts as a natural repellent to these creepy crawlies. They are not harmful and are found in many vegetables. Also, some brewers use saponins to stabilize the foam head on a glass of beer. The spiders are from the grandchildren's toy box.  I have put on yesterday's extra painting that wouldn't download.
