Bridge Over The Tyne

I managed to drag Mr Flum away from DIY to go foraging for elderberries. We didn't recognise our usual place as all the trees have been removed (where have I heard this before?) so we had to look elsewhere.

However, further along the road we found a nice old bridge that carried traffic across the Tyne Water. Barely wide enough for a small car, too fragile for heavy traffic, it has been left in situ and a wider, more substantial, bridge built alongside.

We did mange to find a supply of berries, so tomorrow my hands will be purple and the kitchen suitably bespattered in the preparation of  Elderberry Rob, our remedy for the coming winter's coughs and colds.
