Perusing the Perimeter

Since the single rain we had, these bulbs have flowered all over our land - urginea marítima (cebola albarrã), apparently, though we aren't near the sea. Couldn't resist this photo, with the matching yellow-bottomed bee.

I was sent on a walk around the perimeter of our land, to check the fences - took me around 45 minutes, with time for photos. Here's what I observed:
- most of the boundary is marked by olive trees
- we have stone walls round all of it, some of it beautifully done, but it's pretty broken down in places
- sheep get anywhere - there was poo in very inaccessible places
- definitely a couple of places where folk get in to pick asparagus - we have a lot of it, and more than one man has told us he picks it here
- very little of our land is flat; some bits are quite steep
- we will have plenty of work to do for as long as we live here
- I love it a lot!
