Stirling Skatepark Re-Opening...

You know, Scotland has had Livingston Skatepark since the early 80s and all the new big concrete skateparks started getting built in the mid to late 90s. Stirling was one of the first towns outside of Livingston to get a sizeable skatepark built. It was quite good compared to not having much else of anything specific around. Gradually new, bigger and better skateparks started getting built in Perth, Blantyre and Glasgow. It had a wee rejuvenation in the form of an extention but was still superceded by the new concrete.

Today was the official opening of the completely re-built Stirling Skatepark. They took down all but the old prefab halfpipe which has been rather cleverly incorporated into the completely custome designed new park.

It is rather bloody good and big shout outs really have to go towards all those involved in helping getting it built.

This guy is part of a BMX team called BSD and was part of the demo we were putting on as part of the opening ceremony. He was going rather impressively high out this section of the bowl.
