Rising to the Early Morning Sunshine

It’s voting day for the general elections, the one calm day in three years. For just today it’s against the law to engage in public political posturing. After weeks of campaign mayhem it’s a relief. But it is the calm before the storm. Tonight begins the repercussions, and then it will all go to pot again. I always vote- it gives me the right to moan about the government, but these days I ignore all the polls and promises and mud-slinging. It’s easy on my blood pressure.
