A Cloud Of Wood Storks

We were enjoying a pleasant Saturday evening at The Marshwalk tonight when suddenly a huge group of Wood Storks, numbering well over 200  popped up from somewhere out in the inlet and flew off in a panic.
What you see here is only a small fraction of how many storks were up
there in the crowd,
We have seen this before and immediately knew what it was. They heard a helicopter approaching.

Wood Storks are terrified of helicopters and go crazy any time one flies nearby. They always hear the chopper before we do and that was the case tonight.

Soon after the panicked group took flight, we spotted a helicopter flying in low over the ocean along the beach.

Goats on goat island below, were unimpressed as usual.
