Ring-a-ring of starlings

What a gorgeous day! We took Gally for a final walk (with us) around Chanonry Point. These starlings were gathered noisily on the lighthouse. There were many folk camped out at the point, but we didn't see any dolphins. Fred spotted a couple of seals but I missed those due to snapping the birds. A gorgeous spaniel sped gracefully be us, back and forth, taking absolutely no notice of Gally, so there was no need to tense up at the prospect of gnashing. Phew.

Then it was time up for our fostering of the Jack Russell. We were tearful saying goodbye to him at Munlochy Animal Aid but also a little relieved – he's a lovely boy but very hard work for us non-dog owners. Heath's passing put him out of his routine and that obviously didn't help his behaviour – poor soul. Hopefully, he'll be snapped up in no time and will settle well into a new home. All paws crossed.

We spent the rest of the day on preparation for the funeral (lots of old photo scanning) and the first visit to the solicitor regarding the estate. It's a huge amount of paperwork. Fred, as he has been throughout the week, is being a trooper.

A very good friend popped round with ice cream and we blethered for a long while.

Fish and chips in front of the TV did us fine in the evening.
