Lochan at Farigaig

Gally's walk was at Farigaig forest among tall trees and colourful fungi. We encountered a couple of dogs who didn't receive the gnashing treatment. Their owners were wordly wise in the way of hounds and were happy for their dogs to be gnashed at if the occasion arose. Gally was firmly on the lead until the lochan where we played stick. He wasn't keen on taking a dip in the water, though. We had thrown a stick in there, but he didn't follow it. However, after losing him for a minute, he appeared soaking wet and with the stick – he'd gone back to get it! Now that's a dog that doesn't give up easily.

Talking of stamina, we'd tried to have a good night's sleep by shutting Gally downstairs. He barked for hours and was a little hoarse today. He'll be back to sleeping on the bed tonight. Poor soul. We're not fitting right with each other in terms of sleeping arrangements. He's just used to being one hundred per cent with people. If he didn't fidget, wash our legs, or poo on the carpet, then we'd be happy to sleep with him. But these are odd times for him, so we all need to give each other some slack (though not in the rear end!)

We treated ourselves to pizza at Little Italy – nom.
