Solace Day 1

The Man, The Mate and I set off apprehensively at 9.30am not knowing whether our boat would be ready from servicing and repairs being done by one of the other owners in the syndicate. An uneventful journey for us, heading south, but we will avoid the M6 near Knutsford on the way home. So we arrived at about 2pm.

Good news! The Solace was ready to take away. We unpacked all our stuff into the boat and put the kettle on and started to read the notes that had been left for us.

Bad news! The central heating unit had failed and our own bloke hadn't yet the time or the parts to fix it, not too bad for us, we don't expect to use it at this time of year.

Very bad news! The boat's main inverter is broken. No slow cooker meals, no microwave and worse, no charging for laptops. There is a smaller inverter which can cope with phones, camera batteries and vaping devices. Of course on BT my phone hasn't any signal out in the country.

Anyhow, enough of this grumbling, let's cast off.

EDIT: Messed up the dates with hurrying on short use of internet. Copied and pasted two of your comments back onto this correct date!
