Bridge to Bradley Fen

After a few hours at the computer Pete and I headed out to Bradley Fen to do our regular stint of ditch monitoring, crossing this elegant cycle and foot bridge over the River Nene to get there. We didn't stay long - for the first time in over ten years of monitoring there was no water in any of the ditches. We're going to try going back in a couple of weeks, but I suspect that there'll be no improvement. It all seems rather strange because the river levels haven't been particularly low this summer, and we haven't really had any extended dry periods lately.
