Hill Top Ramblings

Busy

Another one of those days. We thought that prior to reattaching the front of the bath after fixing a minor flood last week, we would 'just' fix the broken joint that happened in the big freeze around 5 years ago. About time!
We already had bought a new length of drainpipe and some joints from B&Q. Rob sawed through the pipe under the bath and pulled it out. Then we cut the new pipe to length and poked it through the wall from outside. And then I tried to push the new connector on. When I shouted through the wall that it didn't fit Rob didn't believe me and came up to do it himself. However it was true. In spite of all the pieces appearing to match, the new ones were smaller than the old!
Bath and shower now out of action there was nothing for it but to go to a proper plumbers supplier and explain the problem. Kind man pulled out some pieces from his selection and of course they were fine. 'Chinese rubbish' was his explanation.
Back under the bath and job complete within another hour or so.

Not content with that Rob set off to carry on with strimming in the garden and I decided to get on with finishing 59 place holders for the forthcoming wedding. These were all cut by Rob and I have sanded and oiled them. Next job to make a cake stand....
