This Green and Pleasant Land

We took another walk today at Tockholes today. We wandered along lanes and across fields because at least two of the walkers are suffering from a bug and steep hills didn't seem wise. The weather was kind to us with a warmish wind blowing hard and no rain fell until we got back to the car park. It felt lovely and fresh with clear air giving  views to be admired (See extra).
However, under foot the ground squelched with virtually step. Living in a place with a much drier (and colder) climate we always notice how much moss, lichen and general greenery grows on every surface. Any inorganic surface soon gains an organic coating.
Not everyone sees this as a positive, and many locals don't even see this layer of green coating everything that doesn't move, so perhaps it is best described as a strange beauty!
