Devizes (Monday 2nd October 2017)

There are several marinas around here but there is an increasing level of privacy attached to most of them, including Devizes Marina and Caen Hill Marina, both of which I have been turned away from, the latter even turning down a letter of request. This was taken at the entrance to Devizes Marina, a closed gate marked as Private, and beyond which I did not go. I was already on their land and since I was not a customer I did not wish to attract attention.
The Marina lies next to The Hourglass and was reached via a canalside and woodland path from Coate Bridge where I was parked. On the way back I was treated to the sight of two swans with six largish cygnets in tow, gliding up the canal in stately fashion (see Extra).
Many thanks to JDO for hosting this week's Mono Monday, on the theme of Entrance.
