Paddling Naked At The V&A

Being tourists, we did touristy things.  Which we enjoyed immensely.

First up was the Natural History Museum.  Something I've wanted to see for a very long time.  And it did not disappoint.  You could spend more than a day just looking at the details in the building itself.

You can't do justice to the exhibits in a morning, so we spent it walking round and finding things that made us go Wow a lot.  Like this.

You'd think that would be enough for one day, but no.  Not when the Victoria & Albert Museum is just over the road.

We spent a good few hours in there too, knowing that we had again merely scratched the surface.

My title comes from the inner garden of the V&A.  There is a large fountain/water-feature.  Beside it is a list of rules, one of which was "Paddling is allowed but keep clothes on".  I have to wonder how often people went paddling naked, in the middle of the V&A, for them to have included that rule.

After that we walked down through the parks past Buckingham Palace,  f down Birdcage Walk, through Queen Anne's Gate (where we could imagine living, but couldn't imagine where we would get the money from to buy anything there ), and wound our way past Westminster Abbey to the Houses of Outrageous Entitlement, and ended up eventually at Tate Britain.

In my extras Blip has decided that my Buddha picture has to uploaded sideways.  There's also a nice look at the minerals room in the NHM and some Islamic tiles from the V&A.
