Scarlett O'Hara

Silence of the Lambs

Scarlett loved this story as a child and it was an ambition of hers to bring it to the silver screen. This dream was realised in 1991.

In searching for her cast, Scarlett only had one actor in mind who she knew could do justice to the role of the brilliant psychaitrist and cannabalistic serial killer Hannibal Lecturn and that was Sir Antony Pipkin. Having found fame in a number of Norman Wisdom vehicles, Sir Antony agreed to take on this meaty role.

Casting the woman to play Clarice Pidgeon was a lot more difficult. A number of actresses were auditioned, including Michelle Piper, Dana Scullywag and Drew Notanymore. I think you will agree that Scarlett's final choice of Jodie Guiness was perfect.

The film won several Academy awards, whilst the sale of Fava beans shot through the roof.
