Roseberry Topping

Day 5 of the Cleveland Way, from Newton under Roseberry to Saltburn-by-the-Sea. (Why does one place have dashes in the name and the other not?)

Unlike yesterday, we climbed over the top of Roseberry Topping for excellent views. It was a Saturday morning and the top was crowded: couples, children and dogs all enjoying the exercise and sunshine. Clearly it's a much loved hill.

The rest of the Way north-east to Saltburn was an enjoyable mix of hillside and woodland paths, if a bit less spectacular than the day before.

At Saltburn our holiday company redeemed themselves for an indifferent B&B a few days before. The hotel was a couple of grades above our usual accommodation for a walking holiday, and their 7 Course menu made a great change from pub food.
