At home: fantastically beautiful fungi x

A real mystical and magical find. This tiny little translucent pleated parasol literally looks like a fairy has left it behind. The coprinus plicatilis or pleated inky cap is such a rare little mushroom.

Today it was a wet dusky morning, but as soon as the sun appears and touches its delicate parasol, it shrivels up like delicate fairy wings and disappears into the ground.

What's more special is that the tooth fairy visited Sam last night. Clearly they use these to parasol to earth! How lucky! X
