Grey Wagtail

It's quite relaxing being in a hide, chatting, hoping you're going to get something a bit unusual. I was hoping for a Kingfisher again but there wasn't much activity with any bird species! It was good to get one of this Grey Wagtail on a branch as they normally hop along the ground.

Grey wagtails have a long tail giving them a rather elegant profile and they are continually active, pumping their tails up and down as if for fun. As autumn approaches they become less particular about where they search for food and, though our population is resident, many grey wagtails come to Britain from Europe in the winter and generally they spread out across the country with the exception of the far north and high ground. So at this time of year grey wagtails can be found in many different habitats in most parts of the country.

My car was booked in for it's MOT late afternoon and it was good to see it pass, although I think the clutch needs replacing......more expense!
