Milwaukee Public Museum....

....another of my favorite buildings in the City.
While the original Museum was started back in 1851, it wasn't officially chartered until 1882. At that time a new building was designed and constructed to house both the Museum and the Public Library & opened in 1884. As the collections of both the Library and the Museum expanded, they needed more space, so the Library was left in the original building (where it is still housed today & is also a beauty of a building) & this new building was designed in 1960 with construction finishing in 1962. It has lots of different exhibits, but my favorite is "The Streets of Old Milwaukee" which just underwent a million dollar update: it's a recreation of what Milwaukee would have looked like at the turn of the Century. We pass the Museum everyday after Tom's chemo, as I like this route so much better than taking the expressway!  :))
