Spoonbill!

A lifer for me :) He was just standing in the polder over the road from were we were staying and I got up early to see what I could see. Delighted. We did see three yesterday, on our very wet walk, but I wasn't getting the camera out in that weather! Nice to see barnacle geese, too.
Later we went on a long wander along the beach on the other side of the island. It stayed dry. I was impressed by the way there was a bar on the beach  about every 500m. very civilised. Great views of seals resting on a sandbar, and watching the kids giving the puppy a bit of exercise.
Later we cleaned the house and headed back to Leuven...
