Have you noticed how menu prices are often written now without the £sign or any other details? Why do I find it irritating? Do you, or is just me being a Luddite? 

Anyway, beans and chili sounds tasty to me. But I didnt stay to eat, just a coffee and  a browse of the small but perfectly formed show at the Nunnery gallery in the Bow Road of pictures by the East London Group from the 1940's. Tasty pictures and worth a drop in. Its a new feature in the East End which I wasn't aware of. (See extra).
