Walking the Dog

Another grass and leaf Blip. I just can't resist!!
It was Harvest Festival at Miss E's school this afternoon and it was AMAZING!!!
It was a bit of a rush to get back from teaching, take Archie out and then get to school in time but I made it. And Nana joined me too which was lovely.
The hall was full of all the food which has been sent in over the last few days. Naturally I'd forgotten to send anything in and felt terrible - especially as the man from the Milton Keynes food bank was there and gave some sobering statistics for the number of people locally living in poverty and relying on their services.
The singing was fabulous - from the ridiculously cute little ones from nursery and reception to the wonderful sixth form choir whose Thank You for the Music sent shivers down my spine.
Miss E's year sang a beautiful song about the colours of the Autumn leaves. They all obviously enjoy it so much - a joy to watch!!
The highlight was when the school choir sang a wonderful version of You'll Never Walk Alone. It made me cry. In fact at one point I thought I was going to sob uncontrollably!!! It was incredible!
The head got up to say a few words at the end and choked when she was saying how proud she was of all the children. She couldn't speak! She's right to be proud and it was lovely to see her obvious pride and emotion.
I can't imagine the head at Miss L's school getting that emotional about anything.
We had a quick cup of tea and biscuits in the dining hall before picking up our little songstress, heading to get Miss L and then home for more tea. Mum had to dash back to take Elsie and Maisie out but we had time to sort out a spa day at Centerparcs which we've been meaning to sort for ages, and our annual pre Christmas day trip to Cambridge.
