And the sun shone

What a great family day we have had, mainly spent at Alexandra Palace, close to where our younger daughter lives. Four of us ladies (me, two daughters and eldest granddaughter) went to the Knitting and Stitching Show, where we wandered, looked, watched, bought, and took part in a workshop where we learnt to make wire beads to thread onto a necklace. The rest of the group (grandad, uncle and the two younger girls) went to Junior Go Ape, had a trip around the lake in a pedalo, returned to the house for lunch, watched the football and took the dogs out.

We all eventually returned to daughter’s house and rested. Then champagne appeared and a birthday cake for the two of us with recent birthdays - this is the photo (taken by Gordon, but with my camera) of me and the eldest granddaughter. (She was very busy continuing to make beads and finish the necklace.)

Then we all went out to a local Italian restaurant for something to eat - excellent. A super day . . . and the sun shone too. More tomorrow.

Jane Eyre
The production we went to last night was wonderful. Astonishing how it was staged. The entire story was told, but in a totally new and adventurous way. The acting was superb. I loved every minute, as did all four of us - and it lasted three hours! How our daughter got such good seats when the whole run is sold out, I will never know. But what a fabulous birthday present.
