Shattered

Driving down to London . . . and then across London . . . not to be recommended, especially on a Friday. But we are now at our Premier Inn in Tonbridge, drinks are on the table and steaks are cooking. And it was lovely to see our daughter and son-in-law and dog again. Family lunch out tomorrow.

Last night we had a brilliant night out. Friends we knew very well whilst we were living and working in Bradford, but hadn't seen for a few years, invited us to dinner at the Haweswater Hotel where they were staying the night. Excellent meal, great catch up.

Just wondering - does the drive to and from Haweswater in the dark along narrow, unlit, twisty roads compete with driving through London at rush hour for scariness? Not a chance!
