Canal View

We've had a lovely day today with a mix of pottering, shopping, walking and good eating. We had a leisurely start and left the pub to head up before we headed down again to Hebden Bridge. It lived up to its promise with lots of independent shops and places to potter. Favourites were the shoe shop - where boots were purchased - the book shop and lots in between, all of whom were happy for Bailey to have a browse too. We did take Bailey to the very dog friendly Lampost Cafe ( seen in one of the extras with a particularly brazen pigeon up top) but he failed to eat his doggy cupcake so we gifted it to another dog before we left.

We did eat our cake before heading off for a walk along the river and through the woods to Gibson Mill (another extra - reflected in the mill pond.) We went up to Hardcastle Crags - or some of them - before I determined that it was a bit too steep and muddy for me. Back along the river and through the most lovely of autumn colours as we headed back to Hebden Bridge. We ate in the White Lion before heading home. We're fairly certain we'll be back.
