Freedom of Expression

The title of my blip refers to the name of the statue, which sits along with its counterparts "Freedom of Religion" and "Equal Before the Law" in the McMurtry Sculpture garden between three of the law courts in downtown Toronto. They are very recent installations, unveiled in May of this year.

Standing with "Expression" and apparently seeking to strike up a conversation with her is my law partner and best friend, J. We were on our way to a dinner lecture, which proved interesting as most of the lawyers and arbitrators on the very first case we did together were in the room this evening

As of yesterday, J and I have been "officially" partners for three years (though we plotted our escape for a few months prior to opening the doors of our firm).
