Lou Ferrigno not as the Hulk!

In keeping with my aim to blip as wide a range of photos as possible, today is Celebrity Day! Here is Lou Ferrigno with his wife Carla, and on the right, my friend of many years, John Balik who is publisher of Iron Man magazine. He is also a top photographer and writer.

Lou Ferrigno is a well known American actor, fitness trainer/consultant, and now retired professional bodybuilder. As a bodybuilder, Lou won an IFBB Mr. America title and two consecutive IFBB Mr. Universe titles, (one of which I shot on film back in 1973)

He also appeared in the iconic bodybuilding documentary Pumping Iron with Arnold Schwarzenegger. As an actor, he is best known for portraying the titular role in the very popular television series The Incredible Hulk.

It has been my privilege to have known Lou as a friend since 1973, and John Balik since 1970.

Lou was one of the stars of season five's Celebrity Apprentice in the Donald Trump reality show. The Celebrity Apprentice is a variation of the television series, The Apprentice, in which the competing apprentices are celebrities who come from various fields of the entertainment industry, media, professional sports and other backgrounds.

I was interested to ask Lou about his recent appearance in this series in which he did well, progressing through to the final rounds. In particular he told me how brutal and draining it was. If any of you watched the series, you will know exactly what I mean.
