A Life in the Day

Hexham Abbey

Every Thursday we all go into Newcastle together, I drop Ben off at work and then Joshua and I spend the day together until mid-afternoon when I teach two delightful children the piano, one after the other, whilst their equally lovely mum looks after Joshy in the kitchen.

This week, after completing a few errands, we headed into Hexham for a couple of hours and had a wonderful time, walking in the park and browsing in the National Trust shop which sells beautiful country-themed merchandise.

The weather was a little gloomy, so this isn't as pretty a picture as it might have been on a sunnier day, but it was lovely to walk round the perimeter of the Abbey, which is a gorgeous building mostly dating back to the twelfth century.

I wonder what we will do with our Thursday next week? There are so many lovely places to explore!
