New Zealand scaup - Aythya novaeseelandiae

Finally I have managed to get a decent photo of the New Zealand scaup also known as black teal and with several maori names although papango is the most common.
Looking like the rubber ducky you might play with in the bath tub it is quite timid and doesn't rush forward like the others. I have been trying for some time to get close enough and today was the day. A pair in extra. The female the duller brown with brown eyes and the male the distinctive yellow/orange eyes.
More information here. Thanks to Wikipedia and NZ Birds Online.
