Statue at Earth Science Centre, Mendips

We went round Halecombe Quarry this afternoon - complete with hard hats! Once again it was a fascinating visit with Tarmac's chief Geologist.
A vast enterprise - apparently it is one of the few quarries with a footpath all around its outer edge which the public an use.
Saw lots of crinoid fossils which we were able to take home.
