Bubblers

It has long been a tradition in New South Wales towns to provide fresh water drinking fountains (most often known as "bubblers") along highways for travelling walkers and or horse/bicycle riders ... although due to the passing of time and the shifting of infrastructure, old bubblers (albeit upgraded ones) often find themselves at incongruous locations. This drinking fountain in our quiet street is now a significant distance from the main road or the town centre or a public park ... or just about anywhere where lots of people are likely to pass. I wonder if it is ever actually used.
