Happy Diwali

The Hindi Festival Of Lights is today and is a much better thing to concentrate on than the darkness I was blanketed in today.

It should have been a sign when the lift that they "repaired" the other day broke down again today.  And then I was almost drowned in a shitstorm of nonsense.

Shitstorm is one of those adopted and much used English words here, it is not regarded as being in any sense taboo. It is used in work E-Mails, newspaper reports, even in current affair programmes - it is no big deal.  It is simply the word that describes the thing.  I still get surprised by things like that.  There was a whole on-line video presentation at work that got very enthusiastic about "f***-up sessions", that had me struggling for breath.

Anyway, forget all that and enjoy Diwali.
