Buzz Off

I don't know what this is - a wasp? a hover-fly? - but it doesn't look as if it wants to be disturbed while it busies itself on some very later flowering escallonia.

I've had a quiet day, mostly in my newly-spacious workroom, getting on with practicing free-motion quilting. It went quite well, dare I hope that I may be getting the hang of it at last.
