Sunrise over Kawau Island

Woke in time to get down to the waterfront before the sun "emerged" from behind Kawau Island. There was too much cloud for the sun to actually show through in any significant way.

The tide was coming in, and despite there being enough of the feeding grounds still uncovered, birdlife was limited. Lots of gulls, herons (fewer than yesterday morning), and one or two oystercatchers (toreapango). The kotare (kingfishers) were relatively plentiful.

Although I interspersed walks and stopping to use the camera, my morning run was more pleasing than any other recently. It will be good if I can keep doing it.
