"Spreading The Word" On A Litfaßsäule

The cylindrical structure you see here typical of many throughout the city .They are Litfaßsäule (invented by & named after the German printer Ernst Litfaß in 1854 ) Found all over Germany there's a history link at the end. Quizzers take note.  In 30years of living here I've never seen the posters being changed .Today I did and the gentleman had no objections to my photographing him .Not a crease to be seen plus he was thorough and proud of his job .Refreshing to encounter. He informed me that this has been his employment for forty years and in a year he will retire .So if you are ever visiting a German city you know the name of such structures :
