Ginger You’re Barmy

Us grown-ups had big plans to get up early and go on a walk before the children got up but as D and I sat in bed drinking our morning coffee, the scenery outside gradually disappeared behind a thick wall of fog and rain. We thought better of it and hung around the house until D went out to pick up his Mum from Keswick who is here for the night.
Plan B was to park at White Moss Common and do a walk around Grasmere and Rydal Water but the rain kept on falling and no one was very keen.
We ended up parking in Grasmere and heading to a pub for lunch and a pint of local beer.
A visit to Sarah Nelson’s for gingerbread is an absolute necessity. It’s fabulous.

This evening we got an Indian takeaway and are now happily ensconced in the sitting room with wine and a film while the children vegetate down in the pit.
