The Guardians of the Garden

These two are the Guardians of the Garden.

The Garden, however, isn't bound by human concepts of boundaries and fences. No, it reaches as far as the eye can see, the nose can smell and the ear can hear. That's big!

The balcony is very useful for detecting intruders into the Garden, and a bit like my scoring photo this week, it is important to maintain focus at all times.

Once an intruder has been detected, it is appropriate to rush down stairs, hurl oneself through the dog door and then make an awful fuss at the human imposed barrier (fence /gate) to warn off the intruder from coming any closer.
As this is a corner block on a popular dog walk circuit, the opportunities are almost endless somedays.
Occasionally, we spoil the fun (and spare the neighbours) by blocking the exit route.

Funnily enough, if 90% of those intruders were met in the park, fun and play would ensue. So, please forgive the racket of barking as you pass our house with your dog, it's just them doing their job.

It's a tough life being a Guardian of the Garden.
