Sgwarnog: In the Field

Cranes

For their final day of half-term I took 9yo & 13yo to York.

9yo had requested a trip to Jorvik and we enjoyed the animatronic tableaux. Even 13yo was impressed. Something about Viking York made me sneeze.

Otherwise we wandered around, enjoyed the street performers and browsed a few shops and galleries and looked up.

Mid-wander, I was attracted by the dappled shadows on The Three Cranes Inn. A fine tiled sign I thought, until I later read that the pub was named for three lifting cranes in a yard to its rear.
