Sgwarnog: In the Field

Botanical

The botanical gardens in Lister Park can be relied upon for bold autumn colours, bold enough even to put 9yo's leggings in the shade, which is quite an achievement.

We spent a good afternoon in the park, joined by one of 13yo's school mates. I do love a windy autumn day, perhaps there's something soothing about the noise of the trees matched with the dynamism of falling leaves.

We took our first peek inside the new permanent Hockney gallery in Cartwright hall, which sits at the heart of the park. It is really well done, and ties the artist to this, his home city, beautifully.
