Sgwarnog: In the Field

Alarm

A combination of overlooked heritage and an ingenius pun proved too much to resist, even with the grand sights of York all around me.

It seems the Rely-a-Bell company was established in 1904 and traded independently until becoming part of Chubb Alarms in 1969.  If any of you have an alarming degree of expertise in alarms you might be able to date this model.

For their least day of half-term, 10yo and 14yo were treated to a Bella Italia lunch before we pottered about town, including a first visit to York Gallery. It's been a while since I've walked up the Shambles, but it seems to have turned into a Harry Potter theme park. Having read the first blog that I came across investigated further it seems the Shambles may have been an inspiration for Diagon Alley. And on that tenuous link a swarm of businesses have formed.
