Reikes small life...

Igl Compass, 3016

After feeling not so well last night I was astonished that I was quite fit this morning, and so we went on a hike up to Igl Compass which can be reached quite quickly via the Albulapass. Here more pictures :)
There were some snow fields that needed to be crossed, but not too bad. And totally to Djeili's liking.
Only the last part was not great at all, scree with ice on top, and as Philipp had no crampons we decided to not go to the top, even when it was only a few meters to go.

We are usually rather overly cautious than too adventurous. Very different to a couple we spotted, instead of taking the normal hiking path walking straight up the north face with it's angle of 40°. Scree with firn. With snowshoes. It looked so very dangerous and they knew they were a bit in trouble, too, but after a bit there was no way that they could just walk down again. Philipp couldn't even watch, and I was nearly about to call the rescue helicopter anyway. Miraculously they made it... No clue how they could be so stupis and what made them go straight up!

Lovely dinner with Malcolm and SwissPiper again to end our holidays in the Engiadina. Sad to go tomorrow.
