Life through the lens...

Holkham Beach

Another fun packed day.
Weather felt mild with hardly any wind, and a watery autumn sun.
We were quite surprised that there were still quite a few visitors about.
We usually have the wide expanse of Holkham beach to ourselves, however there were at least 20 other people today.
You may just be able to see some of them in this photo!
As usual we parked the car at Holkham, walked through the pine woods , and back along the sands.
Just love this place.

For lunch we met up with G&J at the Couryard Cafe. A lovely walk through the deer park.
( see extra)
Then onto Wells next the Sea and a walk round this quaint old fishing port.
Once on the edge of the sea, but now a mile inland. The tidal channel lets the boats come into to land their catch on the quayside.
Great old fashioned butcher and game dealer.
See extra photo.

Stopped at Stiffkey marsh on the way back. The egrets which were once quite rare, are now very common. We counted at least 20.

Driving home as the sun was setting, and the geese were flying in.
What a wonderful end to the day.

Out tonight to another local pub. The Three Swallows in Cley.
We haven't been there for many years.
It is Norfolk Restaurant Week, and they have a special menu. Two courses for £10.00.

Thank you for all those kind comments, hearts and stars.
I do appreciate them.
Sorry I only have time to sprinkle stars and hearts at the moment.
