Portugal - Lisbon - Day 3

Backblip

What a great day this was. Cameron came across the square with us this morning to the pastry shop for the breakfast, passing the Ladies of the Fan, we had already seen the Japanese Tai Chi/sword man doing his routine and with his pupils.

Picked up the No 12 tram at the far end of the square dropping us off at the stop nearest the Castle. It was getting warm already, promising to be another gorgeous day here in Lisbon. Wandered round the castle taking in the magnificent views and showing them where our apartment was. Seeing the city from above you can see Where all the neighbourhoods are. I love this view.

Spent almost 2 hours wandering about and Ben enjoying running up and down the grassy hill inside. Don't know where he gets his energy from!

Next stop was some refreshments on the way down the hill to The edge of Alfama. We stopped at a place that makes fabulous milkshakes and ice cream. We stayed indoors to cool down a bit.

Next was a spur of the moment decision which turned out to be such a good one. Every since we got the tuk tuk back from our visit to Belem on Sunday, Ben has been going on and on wanting to go on one again. So as we were in an area where the tuk tuk's park up I chose one that seated six and was electric. We arranged a good price for 1.5 hours and our driver, Pedro took us round many sights, stopping at Graca, for a fab view, and up at Parque Eduardo for a stunning view right down to the river. He was good fun telling us loads of stories and we all loved it! He dropped us off at Tuk Tuk Square near Rossio and we wandered home to the flat.

We are leaving tomorrow for the Algarve, so did some packing before we went back to Bomjardim for more spit roasted chicken - mmmmmmmmm!

More sitting outside for evening meal. Making the most of it.
