Portugal - Lisbon to Odiaxere - Day 4

Backblip

Final trip across the square for the breakfast pastries this morning as heading for part two of the holiday.  After breakfast we had a wee wander down to Rossio square and a coffee in Cafe Nicola where a hat was left (not mine!).

We finished packing up then it was the short walk to the metro and then  back to the airport to pick up the 9 seater Mercedes van that was ordered for us.

Over the vast 10 mile long Vasco do Gama bridge heading south to the Algarve where we are staying in a converted farmhouse for a week.  One stop on the motorway in an extremely clean service station then 2.5 hours later we arrived at Quinta Das Achadas which is set in beautiful gardens with trees and shrubs.  It's got a good sized pool a nice shaded cabana with sofas and chairs and best of all Milo and Cassie a lab and a golden retriever.  Ben instantly fell for Milo who was a complete gem of a dog so good with people and Ben couldn't stop hugging him.

There are six rooms/apartments in the grounds and part of the deal is there are two communal dinners in the week we are there.  We met the other guests and we hit it off immediately with Christine and Graham a couple In Their late 60s from London who have come to the Quinta for 15 years in a row in October.  There was also the couple next room to us Martin and Judy, from Rippon.  They were here to walk - he was retired and she was an artist - such a lovely lady.  Then we had Val and Gareth, they were quieter didn't really find out much about them, also there so walk.  He was in IT and she was an engineer.  Ben charmed everyone and we were served by Jill and Julio, the owners.

Plenty laughs and to be honest it turned out better than I thought it would be.  The other guests are really nice.

Bed - quite done in!!
