Beauty in my own back yard

There is an old lilac tree at the end of my back garden, recently struggling a bit because of an encroaching former Christmas tree that my neighbours planted years ago. Some years we have wonderful lilac blossom, but this year it was quite sparse. However, this morning, as I visited the recycling bin,  I couldn't help noticing the fantastic colours of the remaining leaves.

So here are my autumn colours for today - a day when frankly there was very little else in the way of colour.
