Grand Greve

Storm Brian blew through and we were finally able to sail across from Guernsey to the tiny Channel Island of Sark. This photo shows Grand Greve beach which is accessed by a steep and slippery flight of steps. It was constructed by volunteers after a landslide in 2010 which demolished the existing staircase.

The island (centre) is Brecqhou, now owned privately by the Barclay Brothers, billionaire owners of The Telegraph group and The Ritz.
