Cosy

It's almost completely dark at 16:30, and going to get dark a lot earlier by midwinter!  However, this gives us the chance to light up the world via various windows and outdoor lights so the darkness feels cosy, rather than depressing! Just now we have 12 lights in twelve windows in our three houses!  We are being slightly careful because in earlier times the real advent symbols, illuminated stars and lightbridges, didn't go up until Advent, and some older people get a little uncomfortable if they go up early. We are not like that but we make sure such lights go up in windows that face away from our neighbours.
Here is Betty's, HD's studio, and our two dinner guests have just gone up to see what Jan is doing. I'm on my way up as soon as I've grabbed this blip!
Lots of tidying up today, because the guests were coming and it's weeks since we did a thorough tidy!  More guests next weekend too, so hopefully we'll keep it like this all week.
By next week they'll be even more lights outside!
